Under three of the best places to stay in Orlando page 84 of the
2005 edition
'The Bahama Bay Resort, on Lake Davenport in
Kissimmee (at the west end of highway 192, by highway 27), opened
in 2003 and is spread over 70 acres (28 ha), with 498 condos of
one two and three bedrooms, all with balconies) in 38 buildings,
two and three stories high. The resort style community is woven
with tropical landscaping that includes water features, a recreation
centre and clubhouse, restaurant and snack bar, internet cafe,
fitness centre, sauna and spa (the fabulous Eleuthera Spa &
Salon), tennis, basket ball and volleyball,four heated pools and
kiddie pools. You can fish in the lake, which has a sandy beach,
plus there is a video arcade and small cinema. Theres a regular
shuttle to the theme parks for a small charge.
The four types of condo offer 2 bedroom, 2 bath
(sleeping 6 with a sofa bed in the lounge) and three bed, 2 bathroom
(sleeping eight again with sofa bed), with fitted kitchen, laundry
room/washer-dryer, living room and dinning area. The Grand Bahama
3-bedroom condo boasts 1,739 sq ft (162sq metres) of space and
